& WILDLIFE ART
Eric Schommer, artist
"Nothing in the world can take the place of
Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than
unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded
genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world
is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and
determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On'
has solved and always will solve the problems of the human
race."

Eric has outdone himself and has completed his best

An introduction to my art by: Eric P Schommer
"My
Interest in maritime art began with my discovery of ocean water
as a very dramatic subject in early 2006.. By combining the power
of the ocean with the majestic ocean liners which were such great
structural masterpieces of the sea, I discovered a wonderful
venture into Ocean liner art. I have traveled on ships and there
is nothing like experiencing the sensation of massive
ocean swells cradling these massive ships. It is truly
breathtaking and it gives me the desire to express my creativity.
I am so motivated to relive this era of travel in my art,
especially capturing on canvas the ocean liners, which were so much
a part of the "Golden Age of Travel", The White Star Line ships
etc.. I started out painting 'wildlife' subjects. I do still
love painting wildlife and fully appreciate the 'grandeur' of
nature and it's natural beauty. I believe my goal is to try
connect my art to my audience by sharing this beautiful
exciting feeling that I have as I paint."
"It is
very fitting that many of my maritime paintings are being showcased
in various stores on
board one of the greatest Ocean Liners, the Queen Mary in Long Beach,
California. My paintings are featured in the PastTimes
Collectibles store, and the 5 Cunard
Queen's original painting is currently showcased in the Land of
Fruits & Nuts, California Shakes location also on board the ship."
"My maritime paintings have
now been purchased by customers as far away as
Belfast, Northern Ireland, (the birthplace of the Titanic), and Nova Scotia, Canada".

Recently Eric partnered with Chris Johnston and
Drake Jasso of
Harbor Castle, PastTimes Collectibles and Queen Mary Photography Service to assist in the
promotion and marketing of his work.
Chris says of Eric and his work:
"The first time I was
introduced to Eric and his work, I realized that Eric was a very
talented artist that one day will
succeed. I hope that our new partnership will help him achieve
success. Since then we have all got to know each other better and have found a great deal of middle ground with our
collaboration on recent works, especially the recent "masterpiece"
Eric has completed,
"The 5 Cunard Queens". I hope we can continue our good
relationship as we pursue recognition for Eric and his
wonderful art."
His recent canvas is sure to draw much attention and acclaim.
Entitled "The 5 Queens", it is a large canvas using acrylic paints, 72" x 30",
and shows all the Cunard Queen's, both past and present in New York,
Queen
Elizabeth, Queen Mary from yesterday and the QE2 (now in Dubai
permanently), the Queen Mary 2 and the newest Queen in the Cunard fleet, Queen
Victoria.
